the Friday5 - week two

I know i'm doing these slightly later than Friday:

Your task is simply to answer these five questions without using any of the Taboo words or phrases. Challenge yourself not just to avoid using the words, but to think of fresh, new answers to these sort of cliched meme questions!

Who’s making a positive difference in your life?
Taboo words: friends, family, husband/wife/spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend.
I would have to say the guy who decided to mould iron and steel into a track and add a train onto the track and then make the train go ridiculously fast around the track-sometimes even doing a 360 degree turn-and then add a bunch of screaming adrenaline junkies onto said train. That sadistic bastard deserves a medal.

Where would you like to be right now?
Taboo words: home, bed, anywhere but here.
Florida.

That's my nephew and my two cousins with the dolphins... i would kill to go back tomorrow :(
What’s the first thing you’d do with a $5,000 (or your local equivalent) gift?
Taboo words: save, debt, vacation, payments, invest.
Buy my mum a goddamn new radio, that droning sound of her tuning in to 'talksport' (where they basically waffle on for hours about any other topic but sport) is really getting annoying. And buy my brother a wall mural by his favourite artist-Greg 'Crayola' Simkins.

What super-power would you really like to have?
Taboo words: invisibility, x-ray vision, flying, strength, transform.
You pretty much just said all that was available didn't you? Well i would want a "superhuman thirst for knowledge"
What’s your favorite sound?
Taboo words: laughter, music, ocean, wind, ____’s voice.
uhhhhhh the sound of the kettle going. A mug of steaming tea really does solve all your problems. Either that or the sound of an aeroplane taking off (i must be on it though)
Thanks for participating, and may your weekend be filled with laughter, music, the ocean, wind, and _______’s voice!

Bedroom?

The Friday5 - week one

What’s something in your possession that has long outlived its usefulness?
my bed, unfortunately. But my mattress is comfy as Hell (is that comfy?), so it's a happy ending for everyone.

Who in your life has proven to be a very useful person to know?

Knowing my friend Afrah has been pretty useful. She is my constant well of friends quotes, and always keeps me smiling.

Chandler: 'Oh, she's got you running errands, you know, picking up wedding dresses... Wuh-pah!
Ross: What's wuh-pah?
Chandler: You know, whipped. Wuh-pah!
Joey: That's not whipped. Whipped is kuh-chh!
Chandler: That's what I did. Wuh-pah!
Joey: You can't do anything!

For group projects requiring collaborative planning and then collaborative execution, in what capacity are you most useful?

err i dunno, i suppose i kinda lead. I make sure everyone has a say in what we're doing.

What’s something someone gave you that you didn’t think much of but later became surprisingly useful?

one of those label maker things. I thought, "what kind of a cheap-ass aunty would but her niece a christmas present from Staples??", Within a week, i swear, even the radiator was labeled. Go figure.

What is the most useful book in your house?

Any that i read on a regular basis, so the classics or the twilight saga (which i am highly embarassed to admit that i love. I hate conforming.)

38 Reasons why it's awesome to be a girl

I was thinking before how crappy it is to be a women. I mean we earn less, have that gloop stuff invade our knickers every month, have to go through labour 2.4 times (average numbers of kids per family in England, according to that awful sitcom), we have to carry mace everywhere we go...
Anyway I'm not here to rant. I decided, before i rushed out to book my sex change op, that i would try to think of the good things about my womenhood, you know all that 'my body is a temple stuff'. Here's what i came up with:

1. Women can hug their friends without being called gay.

2. The obvious one: we live longer.

3. Almost all of our problems can be solved with chocolate.

4. Women aren't covered with hair like shag carpeting.

5. We're always the first off a sinking ship, and we usually survive the longest in horror movies.

6. We are NEVER blamed for the water around the toilet bowl.

7. Women never fancy cartoons/computer game protangonists.

8. Women know how to cover up spots and other facial blemishes.

9. If a woman inexplicably vanishes for weeks at a time, one of her friends will most likely realise.

10. Women mature earlier than men (some men never mature at all).

11. We can talk to the more fortunate looking members of the opposite sex without picturing them in the nude.

12. We don't feel uncomfortable with gay waiters or hairdressers. Heck; half of us have Gay Best Friends.

13. A woman can fully assess a person just by looking at their shoes.

14. We can forget to shave, and there is no real issue.

15. A woman can take a drive without trying to beat her best time.

16. Women don't think reading the instruction book is a betrayal of all their species stands for.

17. Women are capable of going longer than five minutes without thinking about either sex or football.

18. We can cry or show cleavage/leg and get off a speeding ticket.

19. We can shop at Victoria's Secret.

20. We always get the bed when we fight with the other half.

21. A woman can get a whole new lease on life just by changing her lipstick.

22. A woman can congratulate her team-mate without ever touching her rear.

23. Women don't have to worry about catching the crown jewels in their zipper.

24. If a woman says something stupid, most men will just think she's cute.

25. We ALWAYS get to choose the movie.

26. PMS is a legal defense for murder

27. We look good in shorts.

28. It's cool to be a daddy's girl. It's sad to be a mummy's boy.

29. We have complete control over our eyebrows.

30. Women can watch one TV channel at a time without getting bored.

31. Women can get drunk quicker and cheaper than men.

32. A woman's friend won't try to persuade her to get a tattoo while she's drunk.

34. A woman won't drive to Hell and back before she asks for directions.

35. Women aren't covered with hair like shag carpeting.

36. Woman don't feel threatened if their partner earns more than they do.

37. For women, a new season means a whole new wardrobe.

38. Women know exactly what buttons to push to get exactly what they want.

For all the Twilight lovers...

Twilight Stars Conquer American Magazine Covers:

Twilight is the first book in the wildly popular teen fiction series by American author Stephenie Meyer. Twilight and its three sequels follow the life of teenager Bella Swan who moves to Forks, Washington and finds her life radically changed when she falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen.

The entire series, known as the Twilight saga, has sold more than 42 million copies worldwide with translations into 37 different languages around the world. The four Twilight books were the biggest selling novels of 2008 on the USA Today newspaper bestselling books list.

Stewart was born and raised in Los Angeles along with her older brother Cameron.

Presently Stewart continues to live in Los Angeles and according to a 2008 interview with Vanity Fair magazine, is dating actor Michael Angarano. Recent celebrity magazines like People magazine and Us Weekly magazine report Kristen Stewart is close friends with her Twilight co-stars Robert Pattinson and Nikki Reed.

Currently there are rumors in celebrity magazines that Kristen Stewart and her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson are dating.

Due to the enormous success of Twilight, Kristen Stewart has many movies in the works including the second movie in the Twilight series, New Moon, Welcome to the Rileys, Butterfly and a bio-pic of the 1970s girl rock group called The Runaways. See below for her much talking about hairstyle for the afore mentioned movie :)

Like Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson was relatively unknown before the blockbuster success of Twilight, which raked in $70.6 million at the box office on its opening weekend. Robert Pattinson is an English actor, model and musician. Before his turn as enigmatic vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movie adaptation, he was best-known for his role Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter in the Order of the Phoenix.

Robert Pattinson hails from London. His upcoming movie roles include the next installment of the Twilight saga, New Moon, Unbound Captives, Remember Me and Bel Ami. Pattinson has appeared on the covers of GQ, Life and Style, OK! magazine and Entertainment Weekly magazines.
